Although I am not an expert on Twitter, I do use it everyday to catch up with my friends, and scope out what's going on around Seattle. Here are things that I came up with for people just starting Twitter, or who are already in the Twitter game.

What to tweet about:
What events you're going to
New shopping hot spots 
Restaurants you love
Promotions, deals or new websites
A vacation you're going to
Catchy song lyrics

What not to tweet:
Offensive tweets about someone on twitter
What you are doing ever second of every day
Also,
Don't use excessive swearing...keep it classy for the most part
Don't use twitter to spill your secrets
